I've been to AVStore especially in my quest to find a truly special audiophile headphones, and after many tries I saw this pair, which I kind of knew of, but I was initially towards the Empyreans.

But after listening to them, my world changed, and I felt obliged to buy them. You can probably find a lot of reviews online about the technical details, but here is an honest opinion of a man whose wish came true.

Close to perfection!

The release is like 1.5 years ago already, all "new toy syndrome" long gone and yet it stood the test of time, so much that I thought it deserves a review.

So what makes the Elite so special and my favourite?
Simple - It has it all!

The build quality is among the best, if not THE BEST in the industry. Each part looks and feels premium. Fit and finish is excellent. And best of all - everything is serviceable.
Comfort is also the best in the industry.

The aesthetics are simply a piece of art.

From the get go you can hear the Meze house sound also in the Elite.
The midrange is just magical, a sweet seductive tone with nice weight to the notes. It has Very natural timbre.

The bass is well textured and has a slight elevation in the midbass. Tastefully accentuated. The subbass extends very well until 50Hz but then it has a slight roll off.
The Elite has great slam, actually the Best slam I heard on any planar magnetic headphone so far.

The treble is never fatiguing, but has enough sparkle to to keep it interesting.
The soundstage itself is very wide and with well extended depth.
Instrument placement and separation is excellent as well.

In terms of detail retrieval the Elite improved over the Empyrean and is on par with the cream of the crop, but without sacrificing it's musicality.
The Elite always sounds engaging and never dry or clinical.

Overall they are the most harmonic and natural sounding headphones I had the pleasure to listen to.
