Danay Suárez is a young Cuban singer and songwriter, born in Havana. Her great versatility and ability to move between Jazz, Hip Hop, and traditional Cuban music genres have positioned her not only as one of the most popular, stylish, and unique artists of her generation but also as the representative of Cuban female Hip Hop with some of the most intelligent lyrics and one of the most exquisite voices. She gained international recognition through Giles Peterson with Havana Cultura Sessions (Brownswood Recordings 2010). In 2014, she released her first solo album "Polvo de Humedad" (Universal Music), but it was in 2017 when her masterpiece "Palabras Manuales" (Universal Music) arrived. With this work, she garnered four Latin Grammy nominations: Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Alternative Album of the Year, and Song of the Year for "Integridad" featuring Stephen Marley, in addition to a stellar performance at the Grammy Telecast. Apart from the great recognition at the Latin Grammys, her progression has been endorsed by winning the La Gaviota de Plata de la Inspiración award at Viña del Mar (Chile, 2017). A great master of composition, her songs have been featured in multiple Netflix series as well as games like Need for Speed and FIFA 2020, and she has collaborated as a lyricist for artists such as Sting, Ricky Martin, Karol G, and many others. Danay has an extensive discography, and this year she released her latest album CAMBIO, where she challenges female Hip Hop, setting the bar very high for lyricists and rappers. Her musical work is focused on affirming God's values in the world, conveying messages of love, hope, and faith through her art.
