105 SILVA
MEDIA REVIEWS

105 Silva’s stronger detail and imaging makes it feel more like a contender for those looking for a budget version of the 109 Pro. Its separation and resolution also means that those looking more towards a headphone for reference or critical listening are going to be happier with Silva.

It offers a lush low end, detailed mids, and smooth highs with a soundstage that immerses you in a three-dimensional listening experience. While it may not provide hyper-analytical imaging, its warmth and realism make it an emotional powerhouse for genres like acoustic, ambient, film scores, and jazz.

The Meze Audio 105 SILVA is a successful addition to the 105 series, featuring a more modern design and a refreshed, contrasting tuning that enhances its technical capabilities.
This distinguishes it from the more mellow, forgiving sound of the 105 AER, which does not emphasize transients as much.

With a perfect balance between form and function, Meze Audio has crafted something special in the 105 Silva: a headphone that feels like a timeless piece of furniture but performs like the future of audio. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to upgrade your open-back setup, this is the moment.

The Meze 105 SILVA is a headphone that satisfies both ears and eyes. With lush tuning, excellent imaging, and beautifully crafted wood design, it reaffirms why we at Soundium support audio gear that’s as long-lasting as it is musical. Whether you're rediscovering classics or exploring cinematic landscapes, the SILVA rewards every moment.

I really do love the 105 SILVA’s midrange clarity and the additional separation and air in their presentation. The 105 SILVA are a headphone that sounds “right”; they have great balance and control with excellent tonality, whilst still retaining a sense of energy and punch.

The midrange is the sonic core of the Meze 105 SILVA, and it delivers with exceptional finesse. Vocals are the clear star here—positioned slightly forward, yet never harsh or overly intimate. They exhibit natural warmth, lifelike tonality, and emotional nuance.

Slam doesn’t impede on headroom, doesn’t tread on transients. Harmonics shimmer without haze. Lush notes linger, unmasked by gratuitous sparkle. Stacked vocals coalesce with micro-detail and macro-cohesion. Expressive voicing isn’t distorted by “wow” frequencies that age into fatigue. Midrange truth feels housed, not artificially highlighted.

The 105 SILVA aren’t what I’d call neutral—and honestly, that works in their favor most of the time. From the bass through the midrange, there’s a subtle warmth and added texture that gives instruments more body and presence. Not flat, not clinical, but never bloated either.

The 105 Silva Headphones strike a beautiful balance between the articulation and nuance of an analytical headphone and the musicality and full body of a warm and musical headphone. It's not overly warm or saturated, and it's not overly detailed and clear.
